Sassan, Gir Forest
Client: Dinu Solanki
Architect: Designers Group
Area: 15.5 acres
Status: Ongoing
An upcoming Forest Resort is being planned at the Fringe of Gir National park- home to the world’s only Asiatic Lion population.
Perched almost like an island, this land parcel is surrounded by a large lake inhabited by crocodiles. Design Accord, in collaboration with Designers Group Architects, envisions extending the forest ecology with cottages nestled amidst dense native trees, savannah-like grasslands, and lagoon pools.
As guests drive into the property, the grasslands and savannah-like fields stretch out to the right, beyond which the lake extends to the horizon. To the left, a buggy path winds up to a central circular administrative block, which offers a breathtaking view of the water from its reception area.
Clusters of cottages are perched atop a central rocky mound, providing a 360-degree panoramic view of the lake, forest cover, and the surrounding hilly terrain. With its comprehensive amenities and unique location, this forest resort is set to stand out among many in the region.
