The site is located in the bustling business district of Kunmimg City, where the scope for landscape design and implementation was limited to a linear stretch originating from the district's central pivot. The primary challenge was to transform this constrained area into a unique space, which was addressed by conceptualizing a contemporary abstraction of Indian art and architecture—a fusion where traditional ethnicity gains an international dimension.

The essence of the lotus, symbolizing purity and divinity, is reflected in the geometry of the landscape. A grand recreation of an Indian palace walk captures the authenticity of royal Indian culture, while a double- height arcade framing the shopfronts, featuring a hierarchy of primary and secondary arches, adds an element of grandeur and magnificence. Intricate jaalis and jharokhas, with their detailed geometry, introduce another layer of regal charm while naturally filtering sunlight and wind, creating a comfortable and visually striking pedestrian experience.
